Workshop 1 - Physical Strategies for Successful Weight Loss

Have you ever wondered why your weight doesn't go down as quickly as you'd like (or at all) even though you spend a lot of energy trying to lose weight?

I meet a lot of people who put extortionate amounts of energy into things that don't actually help them to lose weight.

In this workshop I'll show you the simple physical things you need to do to order to lose weight effectively and sustainably, backed by scientific research.

I'll take you through a series of simple diagnostic tests that will show you exactly what you may be doing to inadvertently block your weight loss progress, and I'll show you strategies for getting around your particular roadblocks.

Just as accurate diagnosis of a medical problem makes it quicker and easier to find the most effective treatment, accurate diagnosis of what's blocking your weight loss will enable you to quickly and simply apply the most appropriate and effective solution for you.

You'll leave the workshop with 2-3 specific things to tweak in your life to get your weight moving downwards.

Instead of feeling like you're forever trying to lose weight but never getting anywhere, your efforts can be rewarded with efficient and sustainable weight loss.

This workshop is for you if:
  • You're ready to put these principles into action in your life so you can lose weight without going hungry.

Testimonial

Yvonne, who lost 5.5 kilos in 10 weeks using the strategies from this workshop wrote:

"I thought I should also thank you for some of the little ways you have improved my quality of life:

  1. Never again having to order a "skinny" latte - YUK.
  2. Losing weight without everyone noticing me counting my food - I always found it somehow humiliating.
  3. Not having to trade things off in my head - like okay I'll have this beer but then I have to go for a big walk tomorrow and I can't have wine with dinner, not being someone for whom self denial naturally flows I hated this!
  4. Best of all, not feeling - "Great I'm now 70 kilos"! And then a moment later - panic, "how am I going to stop creeping up!", and realizing that I have absolutely no idea!

Another BIG plus is to be able to model really healthy eating behavior for my kids. For them to see a mum in control of her weight, neither starving herself nor thinking constantly about food and able to enjoy food with the family.

Thanks again Amanda!"

Having helped many people such as Yvonne to lose weight and feel in control of their weight, I look forward to meeting you at my workshop on Physical Strategies for Successful Weight Loss.

What our readers say...

"Dear Dr. Amanda, I just wanted to say thank you for your very readable, helpful and fascinating book which has given me so much hope. I've loved finding out how my body works - and realising that I am not some freak of nature, that my body is designed just like most other people's bodies and that I CAN lose weight and keep it off once and for all. I have lost 16 kgs since June - and not regained any! My largest loss was 1.8 kgs one week, my smallest loss 0.2 of a kg another week. I know I shouldn't weigh myself weekly - it is probably the one thing I still struggle with. However, in all this time I have not once gained weight. My energy levels are through the roof. I am having a love affair with a very suave pedometer! I can't leave the house without it. I love forgetting something at the other end of the house - it's a great excuse to walk back and add steps to my daily total! My kids have pedometers too. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 14 - 16. I'd like to lose another 10 kgs and I really believe for the first time in my life that I can do it. I can't believe I used to think that it was ok to eat 10 rice crackers for a snack because they were great value at "only 1 point for 10". So why not eat 20 - for only 2 points! And I did, all the time. And then I'd be hungry again half an hour later. I now realise they are highly-processed high GI junk and only an elite athlete can get away with such a high GI carb-overload. You, on the other hand, really know what you are talking about. I am proof of that. Thanks again, and I will be seeing you at Oatley library on the 18th of October. Kind regards, J.S. "
