New one-day intensive weight management course

I'm pleased to announce my one-day intensive weight management course in capital cities around Australia.

This one-day course consists of two separate workshops that can be done independently or as a pair. Workshop 1 covers physical aspects of successful weight loss and Workshop 2 covers emotional aspects.

If you want to get your weight on track, join me for Workshop 1 and Workshop 2 and at the end of the day you'll have a practical plan for success encompassing body and mind, backed by insights from medical research.

Workshop 1 - Physical Strategies for Successful Weight Loss

Have you ever wondered why your weight doesn't go down as quickly as you'd like (or at all) even though you spend a lot of energy trying to lose weight?

I meet a lot of people who put extortionate amounts of energy into things that don't actually help them to lose weight.

In this workshop, I'll show you the simple physical things you need to do to order to lose weight effectively and sustainably, backed by scientific research.

I'll take you through a series of simple diagnostic tests that will show you exactly what you may be doing to inadvertently block your weight loss progress, and I'll show you strategies for getting around your particular roadblocks.

Just as accurate diagnosis of a medical problem makes it quicker and easier to find the most effective treatment, accurate diagnosis of what's blocking your weight loss will enable you to quickly and simply apply the most appropriate and effective solution for you.

You'll leave the workshop with 2-3 specific things to tweak in your life to get your weight moving downwards.

Instead of feeling like you're forever trying to lose weight but never getting anywhere, your efforts can be rewarded with efficient and sustainable weight loss.

This workshop is for you if:
  • You're ready to put these principles into action in your life so you can lose weight without going hungry.

Workshop 2 - Eat with Emotional Intelligence

Losing weight by listening to your body is incredibly simple. 'All' you need to do is follow a few simple physical strategies on what, when and how much to eat, get some regular physical activity, and weight loss follows.

Although the scientifically based principles of weight loss are incredibly simple, that doesn't mean they're easy to do. In reality we eat for so many different reasons besides physical hunger, including emotional and other non-physical triggers that push us to the pantry when we're not in the slightest bit hungry.

That's why I produced my Eat with Emotional Intelligence Workshop, based on the simple techniques that helped me to stop binge eating, lose 28 kilos and keep it off for over 10 years.

In this interactive workshop you will learn:
  • How to tell the difference between physical and non-physical hunger
  • How to get to the bottom of emotional overeating and shake it out of your life
  • The psychological technique that kick-started my journey to a thinner, happier me and how to put it into action in your own life
  • A highly effective strategy for eliminating all the rubbish you tell yourself and replacing it with kindness that will help you to nurture your health and happiness
  • Learn how to give yourself what you really need so you no longer need food for emotional support
  • How to get your life on track for the way you want to live. When I learned this technique I was astounded by the positive effect it had on my life
  • Two simple ways to make an extra hour of time every day so that you can do the things you really want to do
You will get the most out of this workshop if you also do Workshop 1 on Physical Strategies for Successful Weight Loss. Once you address the simple physical contributors to overeating (e.g. common nutritional deficiencies), dealing with emotional overeating is much simpler.

What our readers say...

"Dear Amanda, I recently read your book a second time. The first time I read it, I was impressed but it took me another year before I was ready to seriously have a go. I am now on my third month of keeping a success diary. I have lost 4 kg, 3 in the first month and 1 in the second. I always have eaten a relatively healthy diet but I have had to learn to leave food on my plate. We grow a lot of our own food and I am a dedicated cook, so it was hard to get used to the idea that throwing food away was actually less wasteful than eating it when I have had enough. That was a big challenge, but I think I can do it now. Keeping the success diary has made me more aware of when I am up to 3+ and I can stop before I get to 4+. I was a bit disappointed to only lose 1 kg in March but encouraged by all the stories in your book and in your newsletter that losing weight slowly is the way to lose it for ever. I wonder if the slow down in weight loss is evidence of the Famine reaction setting in? In the past I would have been so discouraged at this point that I would have given up the diet. But this isn’t really a diet that I can give up, but a whole different way of thinking about eating. The really big difference to my weight loss attempts this time is that I got the exercise component. I never found ‘going for a walk’ very meaningful, so now I park the car 2kms away from the shops or wherever I am going and walk 2kms there and 2kms back, which feels more meaningful to me. I think in the past I didn’t walk for long enough to experience the benefits of walking and gave up on it because it was time consuming and pointless. Now I have lost weight and sleep better and feel more energetic. I am addicted to my pedometer and try to do 12, 000 steps 4 times a week and 10,000 the other days. I really think this is why I have been able to lose weight this time, more meaningful than my eating patterns. Thank you for your work and I look forward to reading the new book when it is finished. Sally"
